It's Summertime !

We are now in full Highland Summer mode ! Hot sunshine, blue skies and utterly balmy and beautiful !
It is so nice to go out with t-shirts and shorts ....or a summer dress... without the need for layers of winter attire !
July has been a fantastic month. There have been some good mornings when the haze or sea haar has taken a while to lift giving some atmosphere for photography.
I have been up glens, down rivers, through forests and of course scouting for new areas. Generally in summer I avoid the iconic spots which are of course utterly beautiful, but, with a few factors now prevalent
i.e. covid, staycations and the NC 500 I avoid them. They are far too busy now to enjoy and far too busy to take photographs.
We did set off one weekend on the NC500 route through Sheildaig, Torridon and Applecross. I needed a mountain fix !! It was cloudy early morning giving some atmosphere to the quiet landscapes which by lunchtime were bathed in wall to wall sunshine and searing heat !
Stopping at a quiet spot with a mountain backdrop hubby and I thought we would set up tripods and craft a few images. To our surprise a beautiful red deer stag, still with velvet antlers decided he liked my hubby ! He followed him around like a dog ! Needless to say we didn't put tripods up
but I did manage a shot of my hubby with deer against the mountainous backdrop, and yes....we did give him a snack or two !!

Highland Hospice contacted me this moth for some winter images for their Christmas Cards which I was more than glad to donate. They are on sale in their Stores and online HERE

Canvas, fine art prints and card sales have been very good the last few months. A BIG thank you to all who have purchased. I also create very nice Greeting Cards for my outlets but I am perhaps thinking of a greeting card page for orders on the website soon.

I'm still pondering over a new lens....I think I have just about made my mind up :-) but until next month.....
