The Landscape Transforms
(click on thumbnail to see larger image)
August is a month when the landscape transforms from predominantly green to beautiful golden crop fields and the purple heather starts to bloom.
It's a time of year that inspiration blooms ! There's a slight change in the light too, a richer more golden tone late afternoon.
I've been out and about capturing some of the golden crop fields before they are harvested into big poly poly bales ! which is something to photograph in September.
The hillsides and some riverbanks are swathed in glorious purple heather....I have some new images in my LANDSCAPE gallery.

This month I took the plunge and bought a new lens for my camera. It's a zoom lens and gives me more reach letting me get closer and more intimate views of the landscapes.
It also means I have one lens to cover all situations instead of carrying 4 lenses, which I was doing. I buy all my camera equipment from Ffordes. an excellent camera store
right here in the Highlands dealing in new and second hand stock. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable too, nothing is to much trouble for them.

I am very pleased with my new purchase and have been capturing forests, beaches and landscapes to run it through it's paces and get used to it's performance.
It now means my camera bag has extra space for goodies when I'm out and about !

Canvas, fine art print and greeting card sales continue to be good a BIG thank you to all who have purchased from me.
