January Light Rays
It's January, a brand new start to a brand new year !
January has been so unlike winter ! It's been exceptionally mild most of the month which is great in one sense but not so good for us budding photographers who want to capture the frosty snowy landscapes !
The forests are bare and forlorn and sometimes quite a challenge to photograph when they are like this. I did wander many times to the local forest but returned home with no shots. I really wanted some frost or snow. By mid January the West and it's mountains were blanketed in white ! It was great to wander in the foothills of An Teallach in all it's splendorous wintery glory so I was happy to get a few winter keepers in my portfolio.
We had some very unusual skies early in the month too. The shot accompanying this blog was taken early afternoon on the shoreline at Kiltearn. It almost looked like it was night sky with the fantastic rays striking down through the dark clouds.
By the end of the month high winds, gales, storms and rain were all in full force so my camera hasn't left the confines of it's comfy bag !

I wonder what February will bring !

Take care, Stay safe
